When starting a new project, whether it’s a renovation, a new build, or an artistic enhancement, a clear estimation process is essential. This process not only sets expectations but also aligns your vision with our team's expertise. In this guide, we’ll walk you through what to expect during your estimation process with us here at Carpentry Brothers, ensuring a smooth and informed journey.
Initial Preparations
Before reaching out to our professional team, gather some important information to help set a strong foundation for your project:
Photos of the Space: Send us high-quality images taken from various angles. This will provide us with insights into existing conditions and challenges. For instance, if you are looking to replace kitchen cabinets, photographs showing the layout can help us visualize potential changes.
Rough Measurements: Take measurements of the areas you want us to focus on. Accurate dimensions help us understand the scale of your project. For example, knowing the size of your living room can help determine how large your project can be built.
Inspirational Pictures: Collect images that reflect your vision. These can include styles, color palettes, or design elements you admire. For instance, if you prefer a modern aesthetic, Pinterest boards or magazine clippings can be very beneficial.
Decisions on Finishes: Decide what specifics you want, like painted or stained, as this can significantly affect costs. For example, choosing a specific species of wood can increase your cost.
Sending us your elevations: Sending over your elevation of your project is a great help for us to get your estimation process started. By providing this detailed and visual material will help us give you a more precise estimate.
Having these materials ready enables us to proceed smoothly with the estimation process.
Discussing Your Ideas
Be ready with questions about the process, timeline, and any concerns you may have. Engaging in a dialogue will clarify expectations and foster a productive relationship.
List of Questions: Prepare any questions or concerns you might have. This helps us have a focused discussion and address your needs effectively right from the beginning.
Timeline and Expectations: You can expect a preliminary timeline based on the project's scope, along with what you can realistically expect during the process. Each home project has its unique circumstances, so flexibility is often required.
Identify Your Needs and Preferences: We want to go over and identify your needs and these important details. Functionality,Style,Materials,Color,Must-haves.
Moving Forward with Your Project After Estimate
Once we receive your initial scope of work, inspriational ideas, and measurments, we will offer a detailed estimate. Initial estimates may vary, but they get refined during our onsite visit. To reserve your project slot, a deposit is required.
After securing your project, you can begin gathering necessary materials, like paint samples or fixture options. We will need the specifications on sinks, stove. oven, refrierator. This will insure we are building to these exact specifications. This is also a time to refine your vision based on our conversations and feedback. We will send you our specification document that reminds you off all information we need from you during this time.

Last Steps Before Approval
After you approve the estimate, we will schedule a site visit closer to your buidl date to confirm all measurements. This ensures there are no discrepancies between your expectations and the actual requirements. During this visit, our team will:
Take detailed measurements
Discuss any final details with you
Where you make any changes if needed
Once everything is verified, we will create a 3D rendering of your project. This visualization will help you see exactly what your space will look like. For example, you might realize that a certain color combination does not work as expected, allowing for last-minute adjustments before construction.
Project Kick-Off
Upon your approval of the 3D rendering, we will start cutting, building, and finishing your project in shop. Working with our team means you will receive updates throughout the project, keeping you informed and confident in the direction of your project. Sometimes we do hit roadblocks like weather, but we will always stay in contact with you.
Expect regular communication and transparency. Our team is committed to making your vision a reality while maintaining high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
